The Sanctuary Rebuilt

The wounded man fell backwards trying to escape, he had been running so long. why had this stranger attacked him? why did he keep smiling? all these questions he wanted answers for but more importantly he wanted to get away from this maniac. suddenly the stranger appeared out of thin air with a popping sound. "why are running? I can end all your pain right now." the stranger said."who are you?" the man asked desperately. "my name is Grinny de'morte. I have come to claim a debt owed by your family to me over a century ago" the man suddenly remember a tale his grandmother used to tell him. The story starts with a war raging and people dying on the battlefield, a lone soldier runs off to a clearing and begins a ritual to summon a creature of darkness. this creature made an offer to the soldier, the creature would destroy the soldiers enemy at the cost of his families souls for the next two centuries. The soldier was shocked and didn't want this but a look at the battle told him his side was losing and if they lost the world would be in ruins, so the soldier made the deal. The deal was signed in blood but the soldier made a demand of his own, when the creature would collect the souls he would become mortal and able to die. This demand gave the soldiers family a chance to end the curse but no one was able do so. now the man knew he would die but he made one last attempt to save his family, he left a message for his family to find. The message said "my time is up dear ones but you can still be saved, search for the one eyed man. He will travel with a beast and a boy, darkness will follow in his wake. this man will be able to defeat Grinny de'morte but only after he knows it's name. know that I love you forever and eternity". once the message was finished he looked at Grinny and said "I am ready, take me but know this, you will be destroyed and it will happen before you take another soul from my family" at this grinny laughed a monsterous cackle. "fool, no mortal can kill me. not even a magic mortal has a chance. I am a demon from beneath time itself" and with that he lunged at bit the man into pieces. Grinny then walked off down the alley and disappeared with a pop, leaving a bloody mess for the local authorities to clean up. News of the murder spread and reached the HeadQuarters of the Sanctuary in scotland, they began searching into known criminals who used the same methods of killing but nothing turned up until one of the researches decided to look into myths and legends and found the demon known as Grinny.

Matta Walker had been sitting on the edge a clearing for the best part of an hour, waiting for his friend to return. He was thinking aloud "what am I doing here? I could be at home chilling and listening to music". when out of nowhere he heard a voice saying " but that wouldn't be much fun now, would it?". Lupus Forerunner stepped out of the shadows to join Matta. "What are we doing here?" Matta asked, "we're recuiting, and I think he just took the bait" replied Lupus. As he spoke a figure was moving across the feild ahead of them, the figure was trying to hide behind cover as he moved. The figure got to his target, a stray chicken hopping around near a few old books. He timed his moves and grabbed the chicken before it could escape, as he sank his fangs into it and started to drink it's blood, he sensed movement behind him. He whirled round to find Lupus and Matta staring at him. "hello, Professor Hellion. we come with an offer for you" Lupus said."you have no business with me, one eye, nor does your scared friend, now be off before I decide I want human blood instead" Professor Hellion replied between mouthfuls of blood. Matta was about to protest to being called scared but a look from Lupus silenced him before he could speak. "Now Professor, that's not a nice way to introduce yourself, perhaps I should start. My name is Lupus Forerunner and this is my .... apprentice shall we say" Lupus said tipping his head in greeting. "You obviously know my name but for the sake of manners, my name is Professor Nick Hellion. Scientist and Vampire" he said the last word with emphasis to try and stir a reaction but none came. "we have come to recruit you Professor, we need your help to rebuild the sanctuary and start a new order." said Lupus, Professor Hellion was thinking on his reply for about a minute when he said "It doesn't concern me, All I cared for is gone. you have no way to get me to help". "we have the name of the men who killed your family. as it happens they are the ones we are after at the moment. we could use your help professor."Lupus offered his hand, which was shaken by the Vampire. They headed off towards Lupus' car which was parked in a barn nearby. The car he had was a black mustang with a red stripe across the top, for a sports car it had enough room to fit the three men with more room for at least five more people. as they headed down the road, Matta decided to speak up "so where we headed next?" "we need to recruit one more person to the team, a women by the name of Csilla Shrowd. she is an old friend and a powerful sourceress" replied Lupus. it wasn't the answer Matta was hoping for but it made sense to get some more people on the team even if it was just one more. "are you sure it's wise getting this women, she has a bad reputation?" Professor Hellion added, he had heard of Csilla Shrowd but only in rumours and bad ones at that. "I trust her with my life, and that's all that you need to know for now"

An idea for a story

Here's an Idea for a story based from Derek Landy's Skilduggery Pleasant. A team from the Scottish Sanctuary consisting of four members. The team leader is an Irishman who looks like he has been through a few wars. His second in command is a scottish Vampire who can transform at will but does not feed on humans, only stray animals. The third member is a woman who seems to be surrounded by a cloak of shadow. The final member is an elemental mage with an ability to phase through solid matter.

A few ideas for names

I came up with these names awhile ago but never really had time to add to them, maybe this'll be a new leaf.

Deathly Eyes - a curse has left him unable to look at people, because if he does they die
Brutus Blades - a muscled filled man who uses a sword that forms from the anger in the area
Corpral Wolf - a soldier who has been lost in time until an accident brought him into his future where he now makes a last bid attempt at saving the family he cares for
Lupus Forerunner - a werewolf who has trained in elemental magic and can melt into the shadows

Just a few idea I might make into stories
